There were 32 members present today with Les Reinhart visiting from the Aktion Club. Vern reported a can drop of $64.80 for the last week or so. Dave J. reported that the Kiwanis Service Silent Auction is setup in the south foyer of the courthouse on six tables. Bids are being accepted until October 25th. Rick reported on pre-sales of the Pancake Breakfast tickets. Denny G. and Dan B. are in a tight race for top sales so far. Dan is going to rally while Denny is on vacation! Bob S. reviewed the 2014-15 Kiwanis budget with members that was presented to the board last Friday.President Monthei is looking for help to grill this Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am -1:30 pm at Deal's Orchard.

Pat Miller had the program today. She introduced Lori Subbert, the new HyVee store manager. Lori updated members on the progress of the new grocery store which will be open 24 hrs a day. The walls have been erected and the roof will be on soon. Painting will follow and the paving of the parking lot by the end of the month. The target date for opening is the end of February, Thanks to Pat and Lori for the update on this great project!
