There were 35 members present and Les Reinhart visited from the Aktion Club. Christy Heath was inducted as our newest member. Welcome Christy to our club! Rick M. passed around the Pancake Breakfast sign-up sheet and updated us on the upcoming event. He has extra tickets if needed and will also collect funds as you sell tickets. Several Kiwanian's volunteered at Deal's Orchard this past weekend and Vern reported that Sunday was a very good day for them. Everett reported a can deposit of $84.00 for the last week. Hollie reported on the Aktion Club meeting from last Monday. They donated $500 to the city for purchase of new flags for the cemetery.
Amy Milligan had the program today, she introduced Peg Raney and Deb McGinn who represented the Jefferson Matters Committee. Their sub-committee is the "Tower View Team (TVT)" group which is researching new art and design to be applied to the rooftops of buildings around the square. Their goal is to increase tourism by highlighting some of the unique items (like the Bell Tower) and promoting visitors to discover Jefferson. They showed a video of the many art items that are in the community including sculptures, murals, etc. The first business to be involved when funds are raised will be Crafted. You can contact the group at towerviewteam@gmail.com or join them at their monthly meetings. Thanks to Amy, Peg and Deb for a very interesting program!
