There were 38 members and 2 guests present. Visiting our meeting today were Kim Bendickson as a guest of Pat Miller and Kim Roeder (speaker's mother). Tom H. reported a profit of $400 from the last two weekends of grilling at Deal's Orchard. Everett reported a can deposit of $78.85. Linda reported that the Aktion Club will meet next Monday. They will be having their Halloween Dance on Sunday, Oct. 28th from 1-4pm at the Elks and will be helping with the annual Kiwanis Pancake breakfast. Rick M. passed around the sign-up sheet for the Pancake breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 27h.

Sherry Palmer had the program today, she introduced Greene County HS senior Kyle Roeder who shared his experiences after attending the Tanglewood Institute last summer. The Boston University Tanglewood Institute is recognized internationally as the premiere summer training program for aspiring high school-age musicians and is the only program of its kind associated with one of the world’s great symphony orchestras. Under the guidance of distinguished professionals and in the presence of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, young people devote themselves to an artistic experience without parallel. Kyle shared that around 80 youth applied for the institute and only 18 were accepted. He was one of three Iowa students in attendance. More information can be found on Tanglewood's website.
