New club President Tim Christensen presided over the meeting with 32 members in attendance. Hollie reported on the Aktion Club meeting. Brenda B. gave the Aktion Club program about her trip to Washington, DC. The proceeds from their Halloween Dance at the end of the month will go to the food pantry. Karen P. reported on the Teen Maze organizational meeting held recently in Boone. Rick M. handed out Pancake Breakfast tickets to be sold for our fundraising event on Oct. 27th. Tom H. reported on the grilling event at Deal's Orchard from last Sunday with an estimated profit of $335.00. The second grilling event at Deal's is this Saturday from 10am-2:00pm. Reminder that there is a Board Meeting on Friday.

John Meyer had the program today. He introduced Don Labate from the Iowa DNR who spoke about some of the restoration being done at Dunbar Slough near Scranton. Don is a Construction Engineer who has worked for the DNR for 10 years and covers 16 Iowa counties. Don shared a powerpoint presentation on the project with many photos of the slough and the work in process. The goals of the Dunbar project are to increase water, wetland, and habitat quality of the slough. Thanks John and Don for a very interesting program!
