There were 25 members in attendance today with Les & Mindy visiting from the Aktion Club. Several special occasions were recognized and a few happy dollars donated. Bob shared that a can depot deposit of $86.50 was made. Thanks to those who braved the cold to collect the items! Aktion Club has the Officer Installation is on Feb. 1st and in the process of completing year-end reports they determined that they provided around 200 hours of community service in 2015! Great job! Next board meeting is Feb. 5th and there will be an interclub to Huxley for the Ballard New Club celebration on Feb. 18th. See President Palmer if you can go.
 
Susan Sanders had the program today. She invited Peg Raney, Director of Jefferson Matters:Main Street to update us on what is currently happening. Peg spoke about the work taking place at 205 N. Wilson St. and that over 4,500 hours of community service have been performed by local Main Street volunteers. She talked about the Community Development Block Grant that is under development and due on Feb. 5th. More information on this topic is available at Greene County News Online. The Main Street promotion committee is asking area residents to nominate a Greene County event, place or person to be the honored on a plaque. The guidelines and nomination form are available at the Jefferson Matters: Main Street Office at 110 W.
