There were 31 members in attendance today with Les Reinhart visting from the Aktion Club. Everett reported a can deposit of $29.55. Vern reminded members about the interclub to Nevada on Sept. 11th. They will depart at 5:15pm for the 6:30pm event. Linda reported that the Aktion Club will be meeting on Monday, Sept. 10th and that they have several popcorn serving events on the calendar this month. President Heater reminded members of the upcoming Board meeting on Friday and other events this month.
 
Dr. Dave Jaskey had the program today. He invited Jennifer Miller, Director of Radiology at GCMC to speak to us about Osteoporosis and the new DEXA-Bone Density Scanner at GCMC. Osteoporosis is a skeletal disease in which bones become brittle and prone to fracture. Every 20 seconds a bone is broken with Osteoporosis. Twenty percent of the people affected by Osteoporosis are men. More information about the disease can be found here.  Thanks to Dave and Jennifer for a very informative program!
