There were 28 members in attendance with Les from the Aktion Club visiting and Jane Finch as a guest of Dean McAtee. There was an interclub of four folks from Ames also in attendance. Many Happy Dollars were shared. Vern reported a can deposit of $83.00. Hollie reported that the Aktion Club serving popcorn last night at the Farmer's Market and is excited for the upcoming Hot August Night event Thursday evening. They will also be attending the Iowa Cubs game on August 27th at 1pm. Secretary Toni Wetrich read the minutes from last weeks board meeting.
Dean McAtee had the program today. He invited Emily Finch (GCHS senior) to share information and photos from her recent bear hunting trip. Emily dropped a 400-pound bear in the boreal forest of Canada with a single arrow. It could be one for the record books. Her story was recently featured in the Jefferson Herald. Thanks to Emily and Dean for a very interesting program!
