There were 26 club members in attendance today. Many happy dollars were shared by members. We heard a Teen Maze update from Hollie and Pat. The Aktion Club met last Monday and they are getting ready for Relay for Life and the mini-conference that they are hosting. President Heater mentioned that we may need to move our can drop and sign to another spot on the Pamida property due to the overpass road construction. He will follow-up with them. A report was heard on Spouse's Night with many positive comments. Thanks to Mike & Sherry Palmer for organizing this opportunity!
 
Bill Steussy introduced Carla Offenburger, Director of Community Relations at the Greene County Medical Center. Carla showed us their new logo, colors, and message (Always here, Always Caring) that was recently released. She spoke about some of the events being planned to celebrate the 75th anniversary of GCMC which opened in 1937 with a yearly operating budget of $29,000! As part of their 75th Anniversary, a timeline has been created to celebrate 75 years of healthcare in Greene County. It's worth a trip to GCMC to see it.

A “Welcome Home, Baby” reception is planned for Saturday, March 31 for all 15,500 plus babies born at the medical center over the past 75 years. While it is impossible to even contemplate sending personal invitations, this will be an “invitation” only event with one’s birth certificate being your invitation. RSVPs are being sought. The medical center has set up a special email (welcomehomebaby@gcmchealth.com) for those born at the center to send their intentions for attending. A “Welcome Home, Baby” hotline has also been set up to take RSVPs. That number is 515-386-9891. The committee is also encouraging any special birth stories to be shared this way. They are also planning a public celebration picnic at Russell Park in Jefferson (and also a picnic in each county community) on June 20th from 4-7pm with our club planning to grill for the event.
