OFFICIAL MINUTES
The Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Jefferson, Iowa met in regular session at the Junkyard Cafe on May 12, 2023. President Mike Palmer called the meeting to order at 7:00 AM. Board members in attendance were Bill Monroe, Bill Raney, Bob Schwarzkopf, Tim Buenz, Denny Hammen, Chad Butterfield, Karen Shannon, Don Van Gilder, Larry Teeples. Board members Hollie Roberts, Chad Stevens, Sherry Palmer, Bill Steussy and Jim Teusch were absent. Vern Foje was also present.
OFFICERS’ REPORTS
SECRETARY
A motion was made by Schwarzkopf and seconded by Hammen to approve the board minutes as ammended for the April board meeting. Motion carried.
TREASURER
Raney shared the April treasurer’s report. Schwartzkopf made a motion to approve the report as presented. Monroe seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Aktion Club: bill for trailer license will be passed on to Kiwanis
OLD BUSINESS
RAGBRAI - We will wait to hear from Matt Wetrich as to where we can serve to prepare and on the day of the event.
4-H Summer Camp Funding Request - Monroe made a motion to contribute $500 to the summer camp. Buenz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Kiwanis Scholarship Policy Update - Changes to items 1, 2, 3, and 5. Item five will have “or designee” added. Buenz made a motion to approve the new policy. Schwartzkopf seconded the motion
Tables at Shadran’s - There are 14 tables (6’ white folding tables) stored at Shadran’s. Monroe made a motion that Kiwanis donate them to the Greene County Community Center where they will be stored then if the Kiwanis Club. Seconded by Teeples. Motion carried.
Officers appointed during annual meeting -
Upcoming Events - Senior awards night. May 16, 2023 at the Greene County High School. Palmer will be
presenting scholarships to seniors.
