Board of Director's Meeting ~ November

OFFICIAL MINUTES 

The Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Jefferson, Iowa met in regular session at the Uptown Cafe on November 7, 2012.  President Tim Christensen called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. All board members were present except Amy Milligan.  Vern Foje was a guest.

 

OFFICERS’ REPORTS

      *Secretary:

A motion was made by Rick McCollom and seconded by Mike Palmer to approve the October board meeting minutes.  The motion carried.

      *Treasurer:

Lisa Jaskey discussed the financial report.  A motion was made by Tim Buenz and seconded by Bob Schwarzkopf to accept the Treasurer’s Report.  The motion carried.

STANDING COMMITTEES

      *Membership:

            October 1, 2012 the club had 55 members.  The current membership stands at 56.

Ross Hansen and Harry Hoffman are on Leave of Absence. 

     *Special Committees

40th Annual Pancake Breakfast Committee:  Rick reported on the breakfast.  He appreciated everyone’s help and commented the Aktion Club members were a big help.  Rick McCollom made a motion, seconded by Denny Goshon to donate $200 to the Aktion Club for their help at the breakfast.  The current profit is around $2,200.  Dennis Goshon was the high ticket seller for this event.

Audit Committee:  Pat Miller, Bill Raney and Bob Allen will be auditing the books.  They will give a report at the December Board Meeting.

*Other business

The grilling event at Deal’s Orchard netted $384.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing schedule was discussed.  A committee is meeting next week and they will report back with the schedule and number of clubs and churches helping with this cause.  It is likely we will only need to commit to one weekend.

In addition to our regular line item donation to the ARC Pantry, we will be collecting donations at two regular meetings prior to Thanksgiving.  This can be food item donation or monetary donations. 

Randy is going to service the grill and fill the propane tanks now that our grilling season has ended. 

The meeting adjourned at 7:40 a.m.
