Ron Miller, our president, presided over our meeting today. Thanks to all who attended.
Work is continuing to be done on our Half Marathon. Volunteers are being assigned and arrangements for them to pick up their race packages is being determined. Number of runners last week was 492. Work is continuing on getting sponsors for our Half Marathon and 5 KM Fun Run. great work being done by Jeff and Ron. We have over $50,000 in sponsorship so far.
A Half Marathon meeting will be held next week. Place and time to be determined.
Invoice were sent out about a month ago for 2025 - 2026 membership. Just a reminder that membership fees are now due.
The Winnipeg Rotary Clubs had a President's meeting last week. Kathy Cano represented our club. Some items rhat came from this meeting were:
-Sept 15th - U of M president o discuss applying for a global grant with rhe downtown club for a project in Uganda.
-Sept 17th - Jerry Story is talking about MUNA to the downtown club.
-Sept 28th will be the next on site event for the Westminster Housing Project- on Spence between Portage and Broadway.
-October 30th - Paul Harris Dinner we need to select 2 people for a Paul Harris award. people that we recognize as leaders in the community. They do not need to be Rotarians.
-November 6th - Scotch tasting - St Boniface Club
- A reminder to all Rotarians - the Rotary Learning Centre is an excellent source of information about Rotary.
Our next board meeting will be Monday September 29, 2025 at Rotary Villa.
Sergeant-at-Arms:
Ted McIntosh will be our Sergeant-at-Arms for the rest out our current Rotary year.
The weekly accumulator draw was for $23.00, Kathy Cano drew the Ace off Spades.

Upcoming Events:
Until further notice our meetings will be held at Rotary Villa, 528 Hudson Street, Winnipeg, MB. We had a conversation with the school next door and they have agreed that we can park at the school on Mondays when we have our meetings. They have asked that we park in the middle area, as the perimeter parking is for staff.
Rotary meeting dates until end of 2025 will be as follows:
Meeting Dates in September - 29th. Sept. 29th will also be a board meeting
Meeting Dates in October - 6th & 20th. Oct. 20th will also be a board meeting
Meeting Dates in November - 3rd & 17th. Nov. 17 will also be a board meeting
Meeting Date in December - 1st & 15th. Dec 15th will also be a board meeting
