Ron Miller, our president, presided over our meeting today. Thanks to all who attended.
Our Half Marathon and 5 Km Fun Run was a great success this year. We had 389
runners. Half Marathon 257 and 5 KM Fun Run 132. We also raised $60,950 through Sponsorship. Our club would like to say a big thank you to everyone who help to make the Half Marathon and 5KM Fun Run a big success this year.
A special thank you to the following people. Steve Gallagher and Jeff Miller who organized the run, Shelley Killeen for spear heading the volunteers, and to Ron Miller, Jeff Miller and Ted Foreman for securing our sponsorship funds.
We are hoping to have the final profit for our Half Marathon and 5 Km Fun Run by October 28th. We are still waiting on some final expense invoices.
The celebration of life for Bill Lightly was on September 22nd because this was the same day of our Half Marathon and 5 KM Fun Run our members we not able to attend. However, Don Fletcher, was able to attend and represent our club. Our club also donated $250. to the Manitoba Parkinson Society in memory of Bill.
Ron Miller and Shelley Killeen was able to attend the first meeting of the interact club this year. they had a huge turnout and everyone seemed eager to learn about Rotary. We are going to try and work more closely with the interact club this year. They are a great source for volunteers. We had around 80 volunteers from the school this year for our Half Marathon and 5KM Fun Run.
Ron and Shelley also attended via Zoom the first meeting of the Rotaract and we are also hoping to have more of a relationship with them this year. They also sent around 10 people to help with the Half Marathon and 5Km Fun Run.
Rotary International Convention 2025 will be held in Calgary June 21 - 25, 2025. This is a great chance for Rotarians to attend an International Conference that is being held so close to Winnipeg. We will send you more information as it becomes available
Our next board meeting will be Monday October 28, 2024 at Rotary Villa, in Stephen's office at 11 A. M.

Upcoming Events:
Until further notice our meetings will be held at Rotary Villa, 528 Hudson Street, Winnipeg, MB. We had a conversation with the school next door and they have agreed that we can park at the school on Mondays when we have our meetings. They have asked that we park in the middle area, as the perimeter parking is for staff.
