 Our President, Steve Gallagher, opened the meeting with the singing of O’ Canada and the Rotary grace.
 We were pleased to welcome Several Guest to our Thank You Meeting to our Half Marathon & 5 KM run sponsors
 Announcements.
  • Ron Miller advised that our member Ernie Orpin had a heart attack a couple weeks ago. He is now resting at home.
  • Ted Foreman and Al Wareham were presented with plaques for their 55 years in Rotary with our club. Their 55 years with our club will be on June 15th.
  •  This year we sponsored Divjyot Grewal for the 2017 Rotary Adventure in Citizenship Program in Ottawa.
  • We will also be sponsoring a two person team from Fort Richmond Collegiate for MUNA. The students who we will be sponsoring are Mirha Zohair and Jordyn Lafreniere.
  • District 5550 Conference will be held in Kenora May 25 – 28, 2017.Registriation is available on the website.
  • Teddy Bear picnic will be held on Sunday May 28, 2017. Volunteers will be needed.
  • R.I. Conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia June 10 – 16, 2017. Registration is now available through the RI website.
  • Our Half Marathon and 5 KM race will take place on Sunday September 17, 2017.

           The weekly accumulator draw this week was for $38.00. No draw this week because of our special luncheon.
Guest Speaker: No Guest Speaker. This was our Thank You to all of our sponsors who supports our Half Marathon and 5KM run. Pat O’Connor spoke about our race and the fact that our Half Marathon is a Platinum race and any national records that are broken will be recognized. Ron Miller thanked the sponsors for their support over the years. Grant Obirek spoke about how much the donations that we make to Knowles centre helps them. Grant was very passionate about how our donations helps the Kids at Knowles Centre.                                      
  Up Coming Events:
Teddy Bear Picnic will be held on May 28, 2017. Volunteer opportunities will be available. Information on how to volunteer should be available to our members by weeks end. Some volunteers will also be needed for Saturday for setup and for making the pancake batter.
