Hal Brownlee, our President, opened the meeting with the singing of O’Canada and Rotary grace.
We were pleased to welcome Julie Brownlee
- Half Marathon – It’s looking better for us to be able to use St. Vital Park again this year for our Half Marathon and 5 KM fun run. If we cannot use St. Vital Park we will use Kings Park.
- Our District Conference is May long weekend this year and will be held in Kenora.
- Teddy Bear Picnic will be on Sunday May 31st this year. Volunteers will be required for this event. Volunteers will be require on Saturday to make the batter for the pancakes and on Sunday for the Picnic. Menu items are changing this year. Pancakes is being served all day. Also will be serving pre-made sandwiches. No Burgers
- Rotary Club of Brandon will be having a book sale April 1st – 4th, if anyone has any books to donate, please give them to Barry Hartley and he will ensure that the books are passed on to Brandon.
- Marathon for 2020 will be on Sunday September 20th,

The weekly accumulator draw, today, was $104.00, Don Fletcher drew the Jack of Clubs
- : Kate Armstrong and Tamra Irvin from RAY (Resource Assistance for Youth) spoke to our group. RAY provides assistance to the homeless and provides what youth need to better their life on their terms. Some of the services RAY provides are street Outreach (Provide food on the street), Drop in Centre – provides hot meals, coffee, clothing, showers, laundry etc., housing support and Health Clinic. They also provide Employment programs this would include, Paid training programs, job search, resumes etc. life skills workshop and culture support. They have a gift shop at 415 Graham Ave.
Upcoming Events
Rotary Career Symposium 2020 at RBC Convention Centre March 16 -18. Volunteers needed. A Separate e-mail has been sent with information on how you can volunteer for the Career Symposium. If anyone have any questions you can contact Jeff Miller or Hal Brownlee directly.
