Ron Miller, president, presided over our meeting today. Thanks to all who attended.
July and August we will be concentrating on our Half Marathon and 5KM Fun Run. We will not be having a formal Board Meeting during July and August. Anything that needs to be dealt with will be done at our regular meeting
Volunteers for the Half Marathon is being worked on by Shelley with support from Kathy. Construction will be going on over the summer on parts of our Half Marathon route, this is being watch closing by Jeff. Should not be an issue at Race time.
We will be hosting the Walsh Society Lunch/Dinner in February. More information will be made available as we receive it.
Please note that the date for our first meeting in September will be the 14th. This change was made because Sept. 7th is labour day weekend. All other dates will remain the same.
We have two honorary members they are Gary Bell and Don Johanson
Our Half Marathon and 5 KM fun Run is on September 27th. September 26th, Saturday, will be setup day and volunteers will be required to help with the setup.
Sergeant-at-Arms:
Ted McIntosh will be our Sergeant-at-Arms for the rest out our current Rotary year.
The weekly accumulator draw was for $49.00, Shelley Killeen drew the Ten of Diamonds.
Happy/Sad Bucks:
Speaker: Gloria Oxsndmolr, did a presentation about her experiences at Adventures in Citizenship when she was in Ottawa. Gloria did a good presentation and thanked our club for giving her the opportunity to be part of the Adventures in Citizenship.
Upcoming Events:
Until further notice our meetings will be held at Rotary Villa, 528 Hudson Street, Winnipeg, MB. We had a conversation with the school next door and they have agreed that we can park at the school on Mondays when we have our meetings. They have asked that we park in the middle area, as the perimeter parking is for staff.
