Guest Speaker; Mike Moore, President of Manitoba Home Builders Assoc. was introduced by Kathryn Cano. Mike spoke about the proposed new growth tax that the city has just introduced, Mike and his Assoc. feel that this tax is unjustified and that new owners in new developments already pay their fair share. New developments are responsible for all the roads, and services for the new area, which become part of the cost of the new homes in these areas.  Homeowners have to pay full property taxes immediately even though they might not have any city services like, bus service, Community clubs etc. for two or more years. His talk resulted in several questions from our members. Steve Gallagher thanked Mike for coming to speak with us.
