Our president, Jeff Miller opened the meeting with the singing of O Canada and Rotary Grace.

Announcements
  • Please note the Christmas Party for the residents of Rotary Villa will now be held on Wednesday December 16th. The idea is that our members will help serve the residence a turkey dinner. There will also be entertainment. Members are requested to show up between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Rotary career symposium will be held at the Winnipeg Convention Centre May 2nd to 4th.
  • R.I Convention will be held in Seoul Korea May 28th to June 1st
  • The presidents of all the Rotary Clubs will be meeting tomorrow, to come up with ideas how we can help support the Syrian refugees when they come to Winnipeg. We will have more information on this after the presidents meet.
  • Ron Miller advised everyone that Ike Vickar passed away. He was a member of Fort Garry Rotary
  • We received a Holiday Message from R.I. District 5550 and information about Howard Tours trip to India February 12- 23, 2016. This trip is part of the Rotary program to End Polio Now. Details regarding these two items have been sent as attachments to a separate e-mail.
  • District 5550 is offering Rotary Leadership Institute training throughout the fall months. You have received a separate e-mail on all the details as to when, where and how you would register for these Leadership training sessions.

The weekly accumulator draw this week was for $67.00. Don Fletcher drew the Jack of Hearts.
Guest Speaker: Marion Pacy from the Scleroderma Society. Marion was introduced by Don Fletcher. Scleroderma basically means hard skin. It is usually diagnose between the ages of 20 – 40 and usually affects either the Face, Hands or Legs. This is a chronic disease and as the diagnose progress people can no longer work. It can even lead to death. Nazir Ahmad thanked Marion for taking the time to come to speak to us.
