Nazir Ahmad, asked that the following be sent to all members. Rotarians who are already PHF, for you, the following information is just to keep you informed and to let everyone know that our goal is to have 100% PHF Members by 2017
The Rotary Club of Winnipeg-Fort Garry
Foundation Committee
Making the club 100% PHF club by 2017
At the executive meeting of Monday, November 23, 2015, it was decided to pursue the PHF Draw Plan to make the club a 100% Paul Harris Fellow club by the centennial year of 2017 of the Rotary International Foundation.
- Paul Harris Fellowship Draw Plan:
The plan consists of groups of five Rotarian’s who are not PHF’s yet, each contributing $200.00 annually for five years. Each year a name being drawn from the group to determine the recipient of PHF until all the members of the group have received a PHF. In addition to those who are PHF’s from before, fifteen Rotarians have become PHF’s since the plan was started.
First group was established in 2009. Rotarian who have since earned their Paul Harris Fellowships (PHF) are Pat O’Connor, Christ Witoski, Don Fletcher, Nazir Ahmad and Russ Hood.
Second group was established in 2012 with members Mark Fenny, Ron Miller, Jarrett Davidson, Steve Gallagher and Martin Desilets. Jarrett, Ron and Martin have received their PHF, Mark and Steve will get theirs within the current and next year.
Third group consisting of Gary Bell, Peter Chudley, Jeff Miller, Shelly Killeen and Scott Anderson are in their second year with Peter having received his PHF in 2015.
- Making the club 100% PHF club by 2017.
The club goal of making the club 100% PHF club by 2017can be achieved only if the members of the club who are not PHF”s yet will join such a group starting in 2016 and contribute $200.00 annually or $25.00 per month for five years until all the members in a group would have received their respective Paul Harris Fellowships.
I respectfully urge those members who are not PHF’s yet to give this proposal a serious consideration to become a member of the group and help the club to become a 100% PHF club. Here are some of the benefits:
- Doing good in the world and in your community.
- 50% of the funds contributed go towards international Projects initiated either by the Rotary International directly or by the participating Rotary Club.
- Other 50% come back to the club through the District for club sponsored projects like School Scholarships, RYLA, Adventure in Citizenship and MUNA.
- Tax receipt for $1,000 ($750.00 tax saving) in the year when your name is drawn for PHF.
- Recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow
- Certificate of recognition and a gold pin
- Privilege to be a member of the PHF Club
- 100% PHF Club banner for the club
Please call me if you have any questions or suggestions.
Respectfully yours in Rotary,
Nazir Ahmad,
Director Club Foundation Committee.
