Ron Miller, our president, presided over our meeting today. Thanks to all who attended.
Work is continuing to be done on our Half Marathon. Number of runners continue to out pace last year. Work has been started on getting sponsors for our Half Marathon and 5 KM Fun Run.
Invoice were sent out about a month ago for 2025 - 2026 membership. Just a reminder that membership fees are now due.
Our club received a request for support of the Westminster Housing Developing Group for 2025 - 2026. It will be discussed at our next board meeting.
Sponsors for are Half Marathon and 5KM Fun Run are always required. If you know of anyone who could sponsor our Half Marathon, please let Ron or Jeff know.
The Assiniboune Rotary Club will be having beer with the Rotary Label. They will be sold om flats of 24 (355ML Cans) for $72.00. Information on ordering was sent to all members about a week ago. If you are interested in ordering please let Ron Miller or myself know.
Our next board meeting will be Monday August 25, 2025 at Rotary Villa.
Sergeant-at-Arms:
Ted McIntosh will be our Sergeant-at-Arms for the rest out our current Rotary year.
The weekly accumulator draw was for $7.00, Shelley Killeen drew the Jack off Clubs.
Happy/Sad Bucks: Kathy Cano and Owoola Bello gave Happy Bucks.
Speaker: Our speaker today was Dr. Stan Amalados from the Mauro Institute for Peace and Justice at St. Paul's College, He was introduced by Kathy Cano. Dr Amalados spoke about the International Peace Conference that they are planning for Winnipeg in August 2027. He Spoke about Dr Mauro who first came up with the ideal of having the International Peace Conference in Winnipeg. This will be the first International Peace Conference ever held in Winnipeg. The idea is to have this conference every three years in Winnipeg. Dr. Amalados and his team is in the process of raising money to cover the cost of this conference and to get volunteers lined up. Owoola thanked Dr. Amalados for his presentation.

Upcoming Events:
Until further notice our meetings will be held at Rotary Villa, 528 Hudson Street, Winnipeg, MB. We had a conversation with the school next door and they have agreed that we can park at the school on Mondays when we have our meetings. They have asked that we park in the middle area, as the perimeter parking is for staff.
Rotary meeting dates until end of 2025 will be as follows:
Meeting Dates in August - 25th. Aug. 25th will also be a board meeting
Meeting Dates in September - 8th & 29th. Sept. 29th will also be a board meeting
Meeting Dates in October - 6th & 20th. Oct. 20th will also be a board meeting
