President Jarrett Davidson opened the meeting with the singing of O Canada and Rotary Grace.
We were happy to see visiting Rotarians Irwin Kumka from the Winnipeg West Club and George Dyck from the Newton, Kansas Rotary Club.

Don Fletcher reported that the 88th Annual Goodwill Weekend will be held Sept. 13 & 14, 2013, Detroit Lakes, MN. This will be the first time the Goodwill Weekend will not be held in Winnipeg. There are plans to charter a bus to go down at a cost of $65.00 per person.
Ron Miller and Shelley Killeen attended District Conference held this past weekend in The Pas. Ron said it was a very well organized event and Adrianne Clarkson was an excellent keynote speaker. Ron enjoyed golfing, fishing and meeting many Rotarians.
Sgt. at Arms today was President Jarrett.
Happy Bucks were received Nazir Ahmad, Ted Foreman and Ron Miller.
Happy Anniversary to Joy and Russ Hood, Jen and Pat O'Connor, and Evelyn and Don Fletcher.
The weekly accumulator draw was worth $133.00. Russ Hood drew the King of Hearts.
Our guest speaker today was Philip Thompson. Philip is a volunteer with the Children's Rehabilitation Foundation.
The Children's Rehabilitation Foundation raises funds to improve the lives of children who access services provided by the Rehabilitation Centre for Children (RCC). Its' vision is for all children to have the support required to realize their abilities.
The Foundation is dedicated to helping children with disabilities and special needs be as independent as possible. The Centre is an outpatient facility providing rehabilitation services and specialized health clinics for children and youth who live with life-long conditions. Every year, over 22,000 visits are made to the RCC.
The Foundation funds specialized equipment and adapted recreation programs. Equipment: mobility equipment like lightweight wheelchairs and specialty walkers; speaking and communication devices; educational technology equipment such as laptops and specialty software; specialized recreation equipment such as modified bicycles and sporting devices; home health equipment such as commodes and shower chairs. Programs: adapted recreation programs such as cooking clubs, summer camps and Saturday Night for Teens Program.
Philip invited members to join the Foundation's "Cruisin' Down the Cresent" fundraiser, June 9, 2013 -- a 10 km. walk-a-thon starting at the RCC on Wellington Crescent to Assiniboine Park and back.
Steve Gallagher thanked Philip for his presentation.
