Happy Bucks
Jim Forestell was happy to have spent two weeks in the Caribbean. They had a great time. He also advised that he had placed ticket packs on tables for a Chamber of Commerce draw, $2 / ticket. Jim will monitor the draw and deliver any prizes that are won.
Rod MacLean was very happy to announce that his 9-year-old grandson had been playing hockey at the Bell MTS Centre and scored 4 goals.
Jim Forestell presented a banner from the Bonaire Rotary Club. He received this banner while on vacation in the Caribbean.
Elaine Thompson had a H.B. tonight, that was to announce that tonight is the 21st wedding anniversary for Eduardo and Cintia da Costa.
Glenda Werbowski`s H.B. was that she has been able to have her great friend with her for our Christmas dinner tonight.
Nancy Morris had a great time in Minneapolis, but was very happy to be back home safely after the icy road conditions that they had to endure during the trip. She advised that she felt safe in the vehicle because the “master driver” was in control, =Dave Morris. There were 13 cars in the ditch in one stretch of poor road conditions.
Dave Morris was happy to raise $371 at a hockey event (beer cans). This money will be for Polio Plus.
Myrna Driedger stated that she was happy to be here tonight with all of us.
President Bob Antymniuk was joyful after traveling to Rosenort to listen to a great Christmas Concert by musicians from Plum Coulee.
Tracy Thompson put in a $20 H.B. due to her mother, Elaine, insisting that she would reimburse the money Tracy spent on the sock donation. “Service above self!”
Ed Thompson traveled to Whistler B.C. recently where it was sunny for some of the time. They then traveled down to Vancouver where it was foggy on the drive and foggy while in Vancouver. Ed believes that we are missing nothing by not living on the West Coast. Happy to be here!
Glenda Werbowski felt that she must acknowledge the Saskatchewan Roughriders vest that President Bob is wearing. She does not have any Bomber wear on. The final win goes to Bob.
Nancy Morris is happy that her grandson, who will be turning 8 shortly, scored a total of 17 goals in 5 hockey games recently.
Janet Spence expressed her pleasure that her mother will be living here in Winnipeg from now on instead of Vancouver.
Al Roberts showed great happiness in the knowledge that all three of his children will be home for Christmas this year, for the first time in 10 years.
Jack Wilson has a Ukrainian Christmas celebration to look forward to this year.
Norine Miller had joy in her voice when she announced that this year, Lyle will be cooking the turkey.
Door Prizes
Three ticket stubs were pulled from the entry basket. The winners were given first pick at the wrapped gifts. The winners were Wayne Brewer, Greg Fraser and Pat Roberts.
There were a few rounds of Stand-Up Bingo; Organized and called by Nancy Morris. Multiple winners that were able to choose from the remaining wrapped gifts graciously brought by various attendees of the event.
50/50
Sarge Lyle advised that there was only the winning marble in the sac, so no need to pull a marble tonight. Get the ticket stub and you win. 50% will go to the winner and 50% to Polio Plus.
Number 365 was pulled and Mandy Kwasnica held the winning stub.
President Bob closed the dinner with a heartfelt thank-you to the Christmas Party Committee that organized the event. This included Lorraine Forestell and all the other helpers. Additional thanks to Tracy Thompson for her time at the piano and finally President Bob gave a thank-you on behalf of the entire group to the musical duet that played during our cocktail hour preceding the dinner.
There will be no meetings on Dec. 18 / Dec. 25 / Jan. 1, 2018.
