President Glenn opened the meeting with a land acknowledgment. David Morris and guest Anya teamed up to lead the group in the singing of O'Canada.

The guest speaker cancelled due to illness. President Glenn said he would present a video from Rotary International about RI's focus on the environment. We would also meet Dima and Kate Veriasov and learn more about their experience seeking refuge in Canada from Ukraine.

Sarge Mike introduced guests, Anya, Dima and Kate. There were no anniversaries or birthdays.

Club announcements:

Chuck Crocker sent regrets, asking Elaine Thompson to sell tickets to next week's Christmas Party. Tonight is the final opportunity to buy tickets. Members were also reminded to donate breakfast items and socks for Westgrove School.

Chuck also reported that STARS sent a letter thanking the club for its support.

Prison Libraries Committee - Nancy also sent a link about the Prison Libraries Committee (PLC) of the Manitoba Library Association (MLA). President Glenn spoke to RI's newest area of focus, the environment. He highlighted how this aligns with our club's role as stewards of the Assiniboine Forest. The plans for the future of the forest open many opportunities for collaboration with other community and youth groups. Happy Bucks

Ed Gramiak tossed in $5!!! He was so happy that a person that he sponsored for a Type 1 Diabetes ride met someone there to marry!

Anya took a fall from her horse, and was happy that she was okay.

Iain went to The Leaf with Caroline, and they ate at Gather. He highly recommends it.

Mandy was happy that Dima and Kate and family are finally here in Winnipeg.

Ed Thompson was happy about an anonymous delivery by Prime of cereal and socks, which he assumed was for Westgrove School. Nancy Hansen claimed responsibility for sending it. Thanks Nancy.

Len was thankful for the cards provided promoting Rotary at one of his recent presentations. He used them all. Thanks to Len for your outreach!

Our guest Kate drew Len Van Roon's ticket. He turned it over to the Dima and Kate and they pulled the blue marble!! We will begin a new 50/50 game in the new year.

The Christmas Party is December 19, 2022. There will be a break for Christmas and New Years, with weekly meetings beginning on Monday, January 9, 2023
