President Glenn opened the meeting with a land acknowledgment. David Morris led the group in the singing of O'Canada.

Mandy introduced guests Jane and Oksana, who she met after their arrival from Ukraine. Inna, another friend started a new job and wasn't able to attend. Our club collected household furniture and items for their apartments. They thanked the club for its wonderful support and presented baking and candy for the dessert table.

Mandy was excited to report that the Veriasov family was approved for travel to Canada and will arrive on Dec. 4. What a Christmas present!! Dave and Nancy Morris prepared a sign to welcome them at the airport. It will be a happy day. Congratulations to all for supporting the Bridge of Hope Ukraine project.

President Glenn had the opportunity to attend the District Grant certification webinar. Lloyd Talbot and Wendy Hales will participate in another upcoming session. The certification status allows the club to apply for district grants.

President Elect Iain attended in person the District's Fall Retreat session held in Regina. Peter Tonge was in attendance as well as DG Nominee. It was an interesting mix of learning and sharing. Iain's report will be reviewed by the club's Board of Directors in December.

President Glenn introduced Dihogo Gama De Matos and colleque Rodrigo, from the CPER Lab, University of Manitoba. Dihogo is orinially from Brazil where he began his university training and research. He also spent 2 years at the University of McGill. He spoke about a project to understand how the brain, heart and lungs work together to handle postural transition stress (e.g. lie to stand) and other exercise. Lloyd was happy about being invited to the Throne Speech by Myrna Driedger. And that he had the opportunity to remind the powerful (more than once!) that we are still waiting for the sign permit for the Assiniboine Forest.

Iain was happy that Peter got some media attention for his complaint that the airlines do a better job of transporting live horses, than they do for his wheelchair.

Len was happy that the Grey Cup game was 'entertaining.'

Nancy was happy for the generous donors to the Ukraine families, and reminded us that there are many good and generous people in our world.

Glenn was happy to be heading off on a warm weather vacation.

Anya was happy that her brother was able to attend a hockey game.
