Darvin gave us a rundown of his activities in 2020 in the form of images of the following:
The “Peace Cactus” (whose two branches form a perfect V) in Arizona where Darvin and Sharon spent three weeks.
In San Diego - pictures of seals relaxing along the sea shore, Spanish Village, Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier, and Torrey Pines Golf Course (where the 2021 US Open golf tournament will be held)
Back home on March 15th, two days before travel restrictions were imposed!
At home events included
Grandson’s graduation from Kelvin High School
Two weeks at a cottage in Matlock, “Right on the water” (with granddaughter)
Visits to the Zoo (enjoying Zoo ice cream in hot weather)
A special entertainment and food experience of a Folklorama pavilion arranged in the Linden Woods back yard of son-in-law Stan
A new addition to the family – daughter’s puppy called Hudson
Visit to the Van Gogh Expo held at the Convention Centre
Walks around Old Mill Stream area near Portage Avenue where he met an artisan who makes wooden dioramas and then places them all around that park area for people to enjoy
Celebrated son-in-law’s 50th birthday by joining wife and daughter in baking >200 macarons, decorating each one with the number 50 and then handed them out to people driving by
Ukelele lessons with granddaughter
Spent time on his hobbies - being creative as an amateur artist and amateur photographer and growing Italian parsley in his backyard to attract Black Swallowtail Butterflies and their caterpillars and
“Puzzling” – putting together large puzzles
Following Darvin’s presentation, President Doug announced that our next Show & Tell will take place on Monday, January 4th and the presenter will be either Paul or Catherine (they have to decide!)
