Happy Bucks
- President Bob Antymniuk had a HB regarding the 2018 CFL player signing going on – QB Zach Collaros was signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He feels that all indications are looking like a promising season ahead!
- Chuck Crocker was happy to have played in an M.C.A. tournament on the weekend. He enjoyed the structure of the curling game play this year.
- Nancy Morris gave a $2 Memorial payment tonight. She wanted to recognize and protest, the violent death of two dedicated volunteers just doing their job in Pakistan. The mother-daughter vaccination team in the Western city of Quetta were shot and killed on Jan. 18, 2018.
- Rod Delisle was happy to have been on holiday in the Banff, Alberta region for the past week. He was able to pack in just about every winter sport you could think of including dog sledding during his vacation.
- Lloyd Talbot was happy to report that he has been advised that he is healthier than Donald Trump! Lloyd is part of a longitudinal study that includes 50,000 seniors. They are interviewed once every year and have a complete medical exam every three years. The exam this year included a bone scan, full blood work, memory evaluation and more, all done at Deer Lodge Health Centre. There is a $30 honorarium paid for the visit, however, when Lloyd returned to his parked vehicle he had a $35 parking ticket!
- Ed Toews was pleased to advise the Club that he has spoken to Dave and Sylvia King recently. Part of the conversation included the news that they are now grandparents to a new granddaughter. This is their third.
- Ed Thompson and Elaine had a great holiday in the Phoenix area. They then traveled to San Diego for the International District Assembly.
- Sarge Lyle Miller was happy to have taken a cruise through the Panama Canal. It was a great vacation, but on the trip home they had to travel through Calgary with a layover for the night. They had taken the vacation with a cousin and his girlfriend. Only one layover room was booked by the travel agent for Calgary. Lyle then approached the Airline agent in Calgary and the agent was able to get Lyle and Norine on a flight out that night. They had to pay a $50 change fee but no luggage fee. So, in effect, only a $25 charge for not staying in Calgary -BONUS!
50/50
Our guest, Wendy MacDonald pulled the potential winning ticket tonight. # 493 was pulled and John Inglis had the match. John was not able to get that elusive blue marble tonight. The cash pot grows for another night.
Fines
- Lloyd Talbot for the time it took him to advise us that he is a healthy individual.
- Magnus Johnson for slipping a little extra into the 50/50 pot with a ‘wink’. Is that a bribe??
- Elaine Thompson for hiring an *unqualified driver for her holiday / DGE duties. *Ed
