The Charleswood Rotary Club is pleased to announce that the 2021 Lobsterfest, held September 24, 2021 was a big success. The event was held with curb side pickup, due to COVID, with the lobster (or chicken) meal cooked in advance. We had feedback from many who enjoyed the meal with friends and family, suggesting that Rotary consider this approach again.
Planning the Lobsterfest was not without its challenges. The event was cancelled entirely in 2020 and postponed in May, 2021. Thankfully, most ticket buyers chose to hold their tickets until the September date. The event ultimately was sold out with over 600 participants!!
Thank you to everyone who participated. $15,000 was raised in support of Rotary projects, including the Assiniboine Forest. Corporate sponsors Headingly Grill, Morris Insurance and Portage Mutual contributed importantly to the success as well.
Rotary is already planning next year's Lobsterfest event, to be held Friday, June 17, 2022. Online registration will be launched in the New Year. Rotary Club members will sell tickets as well. Watch our website and social media sites for more information.
