Membership 

Today's meeting was a business meeting devoted to a discussion of the Membership process and Mentoring.

 

President Chris started out by outlining the process for proposing a new member. Chris advised the Board and the Membership Committee are trying to shorten and make the process more streamlined, while at the same time maintaining some checks and balances.  There were several handouts (outlining the process and new application forms) on the table which will be available on the Club website.

 

Don Reid and Jillian Koch, both members of the Membership Committee gave a talk on the Importance of Mentoring. They suggested mentoring was an important way to orient and educate new members about Rotary. The committee is putting together information for mentors and new members so new Rotarians don't feel overwhelmed.  Don and Jillian had a couple of handouts that will also be posted on the website.
