Sabelfish Research in Southeast Alaska

Katy Echave- Fishery Research Biologist/Statistician at the Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute with NOAA Fisheries. Grew up in Alaska. Obtained Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a minor in Biology at California Baptist University in 2003, and a Masters in Science in Fisheries from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (in Juneau) in 2008. Currently head up the groundfish tagging program, studying fish movement, as well as work on stock assessments of various rockfish species, and associated research.
