Abbey is a graduate of the University of Albany in upstate New York. Since her graduation in 2003, she has dedicated her career to non-profits and local government. She spent several years with the Capital District YMCA before moving to Anchorage, AK. During her years with the City of Anchorage Parks and Recreation Department, she oversaw many recreation programs, city-wide special events and a volunteer program that boasted over 90,000 volunteer hours annually.

 

Since moving to Sacramento, CA in 2012, Abbey has been the Communications & Program Coordinator at the NNTMA. Her work there has consisted of connecting with the community to better the transportation options in the area through outreach and programs. In this role, she is responsible for the NNTMA’s communications and outreach, as well as managing several transportation centered programs including Bike Doc and 50 Bikes for 50 Kids.

 

In her spare time, Abbey is on the board of the East Sac Women’s Club, a service organization dedicated to provide support and assistance to people and organizations in and around the Sacramento community.
