The Millbrae Rotary Club has been an integral part of the Relay for Life of North Peninsula (benefitting the American Cancer Society) since it's inception. The event was chaired this year by club member Karen Bettucchi, and members Claire Beltrami, Alan Kirth and Paul Harrell were on the organizing committee. The Mills High School Interact Club was also part of the organizing committee, and played a major role by taking responsibility for the Luminaria (a very touching element is that after dark, paper bag luminarias are decorated in memory of or in honor of someone are lit up around the track). The Interact students also were responsible for the ceremonies throughout the event, which provide some of the most poignant and memorable moments of the day. 

Our club, led by Claire, was responsible for the Registration booth. 

The Millbrae Rotary Cancer Canceller team was the top team (led by dynamo Alan, who was the top individual fundraiser). Considering that the #4 team, “Crushing Children's Cancer - #GoldTogether” (led by Karen Bettucchi and her family), and the #5 team, “Anti-Cancer Crusaders” (led by Joe and Shari Teresi), and the Interact raised funds with their Luminaria, Millbrae Rotary along with Mills Interact were responsible for bringing in well over half of the funds raised this year! Thank you to all Rotarians who helped organize, who fundraised, who donated, and who helped out at the event!
