Jill Derby is a cultural anthropologist who has been working with Syrian refugees in Kurdistan.  She will be sharing with us her experiences, and talking about some of the political issues relating to refugees. 

The Nevada Cares Campus is one of the largest homeless shelters in the United States.  Dana Searcy is the Division Director of Housing and Homeless Services for Washoe County.   

Dave Sundstrom is a Shelter Box ambassador.  Shelter Box provides emergency housing following natural or manmade disasters.  Shelter Box started out as a Rotary project and is now a nonprofit operating in a number of countries.  Dave will be updating us on Shelter Box deployments, fundingm, and volunteer opportunities.
