Rotary in Ukraine

JC Clapsaddle is a retired Air Force Colonel. Among his assignments were deployments to Qatar and Iraq. He served on the U.S. Senate as an advisor for National Defense and Nuclear Policy. He later served as a Military Legislative Liaison to Congress for ending veteran suicide, prevention of sexual harassment & assault, combating religious extremism, promoting racial diversity in recruiting, and military health care.  In 2010, the Secretary of Defense appointed him Deputy Director of the Pentagon’s special Legal and Legislative Team that crafted the US President’s successful repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” He commanded military hospitals at Ramstein Air Base (Germany) and Al Udeid (Qatar) which cared for wounded from combat in Afghanistan and Iraq and the Horn of Africa. He is a graduate of the Master's Leadership Program San Antonio, a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas, serves on 4 nonprofit Boards, and is a proud Rotarian. JC is currently the U.S.-based Development Director of the Seeds of Hope International Peace Leadership Academy (Northern Ireland) and serves as a logistics coordinator for International Rotaries, nonprofit agencies, and private donors providing humanitarian supplies and vehicles to Ukraine during the Russian-Ukraine war. He is married to Colonel (retired) Andra Clapsaddle.

 

They have one son, two grandkids, and three dogs. One dog, Freddie, is an Ambassador K9 for the San Antonio-based Guide Dogs of Texas.
