  -Marlene will email a flier for the 9/19 Fellowship bus ride to horse racing, 47 people maximum, the cost will be around $20 each, invite friends.  We have 17 signed up, needs at least 30!
  - Oct 8th BTC breakfast, Ethan Levine sent a thank you letter for his $1000 scholarship.
  - $1000 will go to “Stop Hunger Now”; there will be hands on participation.
  - Deb Wigs will be inducted next week.
  - 24th no regular meeting, plan on meeting at Cedars in Ferndale or do a make up.
  - RDD 3rd place Rollo $250, 2nd place Jim Sands wife $500, 1st place Jim Sands wife $750, Grand Prize Brian Lloyd $3500

Fine Master:  Past President Tim was on fire!  He was just, fair, and funny!  What more could we ask for?  Since he was doubling up on being the Northwind recorder the fines were not documented.
Banners: 4 Themes suggested – Labor Day, Windstorm, Wild fires, Katrina 10 years later.  Everybody had a crack at it, all paid at least a partial fine, and they rounded up.
Program:  Past President Tim was still on fire leading a two-part discussion.

 $ 9180 Net  70% of total raised, 84% not including sponsorship & prizes
% WCNR purchased for ourselves = Unknown but high
PROS: Easy. We know what to do and how to do it. The event was fast
CONS: Park people, not in Ferndale, how much longer will we be allowed to use and walk in the creek, SELLING TICKETS.
OPTIONS:
  • Ramp up RDD All Club Members SELL and help find sponsors. Buy less of our own tickets.  Sell 10000 numbers will generate $45000
  • Drop RDD and just write checks.  $9240 /20 = $462 each, $45000/20 = $2250 each, $45000/30 = $1500 each
  • ???????          
  • SUGGESTED IMRPROVEMENTS $25 tickets and sell 6000 numbers with bigger prizes; $10 tickets and sell 2000 numbers; start selling sooner at more events; 3000 numbers at $20 a ticket; sell to other Clubs; advertize with more PR
#2 – Club Growth
Club – in – a – Club
1 - Create a list of prospective members. Focus on Ferndale businesses.
2 – Pre-Qualify/Disqualify the list
3 – Invite all to an event, or series of events.
            FUN, Great Speaker (with a Rotary and WCNR focus), HIGH Club   participation.
    Make face-to-face contact for the invite; follow up with calls and       letters.
4 – Interview and provide expectations.  What Rotary is, what WCNR has accomplished, etc
5 – Induct several at once.
            Special event with families.  DG or ADG?
