Call to Order:   President Dale called the meeting to order and led us in the flag salute.
Invocation:  Rick Staeb  gave the moment of reflection.
Visiting Rotarians:  Bob Moles of the Bellingham Bay Club
Guests:   Faye Richardson, Rocky’s mother
Returning Rotarians:  Laurie was returning from a horse event of some sort, in Monroe, where it was 99 degrees.  Tim and Pati are returning from a trip to Peru.  Rick was back from his summer in Michigan just in time to help with the duck race and then go back.
Anniversaries and Birthdays:  There were no birthdays or anniversaries of note, although Sharon’s birthday is on Sunday the 28th.
Announcements:   ALL HANDS ON DECK needed for the Duck Race on Saturday.  We need to sort ducks at Tim’s house Friday at 1:30.  People will be needed first thing in the morning to get the ducks to Ferndale Ready-mix, and no later than 9:30 to set up our table/booth.  Sign up for a shift to sell tickets, and plan to be available for the duck dump and duck clean up from 4:00 – 6:00.
**The next board meeting will be at Sharon’s office on August 31rd. This will be at 4:00 and should be over by 5:30.
**November is Foundation Month so be thinking about Paul Harris fellowships.  The dinner will be on the 10th at Northwood Hall.  Mark your calendars!
Happy Bucks:  Tim and Pati were happy for their trip, Laurie was happy her trip was over, and happy for the Mariners, for the moment at least.  Stan was happy to have the name of his Great-Granddaughter – Margaret, to be known as Maggie.  Bill was happy to have all the preparation for the Duck race done.
Finemaster:  Rocky Richardson: Fines were issued for not wearing pins, not selling duck tickets, etc.  Laurie was fined for winning at Words with Friends.
Program:  Sherrie Payne, Job Developer for Kulshan Supported Employment.  Sherrie gave a presentation about the system KSE uses to place people with disabilities in supported employment positions. Funding grants are needed to support the worker, so there is a lot of coordination involved.  Types of employment that have been successful include office work, manufacturing work, and some types of restaurant work.  Superfeet is an employer that has had KSE workers for many years.
Drawing:  Our presenter Sherrie had the winning raffle ticket, but she did not draw the ace of spades.
Editor:  Sharon Robinson  with apologies for the brevity.  I did not take notes well while simultaneously working on Duck Tickets.
