"Overcoming Obstacles Awards"

     Our club today is sponsoring a very popular and heartwarming event to recognize and mentor six exceptional graduating high school seniors!  Each student has through great perseverance and character development overcome incredible hardships.  They have been able to seek assistance, continue their education, mature and proceed towards a career goal!

     Today we will provide a morning leadership seminar where these select students can share with Rotarians and community leaders their hardships, their goals, seek answers to questions and network together. 

     Following this very special session, the students will be presented at our club meeting, where they will share their stories and struggles to overcoming very difficult situations.  They will each be presented with a $1000 scholarship to the school of their choice and from this group a finalist will be honored with a $2000 Award!!!
