Handle with Care: Six Years of Collaboration, Expanding Across York & Adams Counties
Oct. 20, 2026
After six years of collaborative work and research, Handle with Care is expanding law-enforcement training county-wide across York and Adams Counties. Britta Schwab, Project Director, PHD student, and former Uptown York Rotary Club member, joins us to share the status of this program developed to help law enforcement better understand and respond to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The project centers on vulnerable populations, officer wellness, and direct learning from people with lived experience. The presentation will highlight Bell Socialization's Hearing Distressing Voices training, recent York Daily Record coverage, and the project's upcoming feature in the September 2026 edition of International Police Chiefs Magazine. |
