Flynn Auchey
Retired A father of 5 girls and 2 boys and 3 grandsons.
His original goal for life was to be a Master Builder; in that pursuit, he became licensed as a stone mason, Architect, Professional Structural Engineer, class A general contractor and a PMP Project Management Professional.
He taught Architecture and Construction Management at Virginia Polytechnic and State University for 25 years after he sold his private practices in Sarasota, Florida.
He is happily married to Dr. Gloria Auchey; They met at Graduate school in Florida while they were pursuing their doctorates.
They are dual citizens of the US and Canada and really enjoy living in Fort Langley.

Sherry Baker
Consultant Sherry Baker has owned and operated a private consulting and counselling practice since 1990. Sherry Baker and Associates offers small business, non-profit and boards support, strategic planning and organizational development. She retired as the Executive Director of Ishtar Transition Housing Society and the interim Executive Director of Aldergrove Neighbourhood Services in 2005. In 2006 she started 55pluspros.ca, a web-based employment matching service for people over 50 which she sold in 2010. She was hired as the Executive Director of the BC Association of Community Response Networks in July 2010.
Sherry has sat on, and chaired many provincial, regional and local boards over the years. Sherry was elected to City Council in Chilliwack in the 1980's where she served for 6 years. She completed six years as a public member on the Board of Registration for Social Workers and on the College of Occupational Therapists of BC. She is the past Chair of the BC Centre for Elder Advocacy and Support and past chair of the South Fraser Family Court and Youth Justice Committee, as well as a founding Board Member of the Minerva Foundation for BC Women and a founding member of the United Community Services Coop (now Realize Strategies). Sherry has been a Rotarian since 1992 and is a member of Soroptimist International of the Langleys. She is currently the co-chair of the Township of Langley’s Seniors Advisory Committee and chairs the board of Encompass Support Services Society.
She was awarded the Canada 125 Medal "in recognition of signification contribution to compatriots, community and to Canada" and received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. She has been awarded three Paul Harris Fellowships by Rotary International.
Sherry holds a Master of Arts in Applied Behavioral Science from City University in Seattle, a Bachelor of Home Economics from the University of British Columbia and a Diploma in Business Administration from Fraser Valley University.
Sherry has three adult children and 6 grandchildren.

May Barnard
Retired Is a Charter Member of the Langley Sunrise Rotary Club – she was invited to join this new club in 1992. She is retired (for sure this time) General Insurance Agent after 16 years with Envision Financial. She was an elected Township Councillor from 1996 to 2002, an exciting two terms. She's been married to John for 47 years and have two sons & two grandsons. She took up golfing when she retired the first time and enjoy sewing for friends and family. She does a bit of travelling with a life long friend. They are looking forward to their 6th trip together, this time to Scotland.

Dan Bennett Realtor Dan was licensed as a salesperson in 1980 and a Broker in 1982. He then completed the UBC Four Year Urban Land Program, specializing in Appraisal. As well he was very involved in his community plus industry professional Associations, becoming President of both the Fraser Valley RE Board and the BC Real Estate Association, and five years as a Director of the Canadian RE Association. He currently sits on the BC Real Estate Association Standard Forms Committee participating in the development of real estate forms and contracts for the profession. Dan also does real estate and Professional Standards consulting work. |

Dick Hooper Electrical Contractor One of the longest standing Rotarians in Langley, at present.
He’s been involved with two different Langley clubs during the past 39 years, and has taken an incredibly active role in all aspects of Rotary life, including his turn as club president and his tenure as a long-time volunteer with Rotary World Help network. But for the retired electrician – who made Langley his home in the early 1970s – his community involvement is not exclusive to Rotary. He’s one of those guys who’s always been there to lend a helping hand, whether doing some wiring for the Langley Christmas Bureau, selling hot dogs for kids charities, helping organize and outfit Langley City for past Christmas and summer parades, or – his most long-standing volunteer role outside of Rotary – serving as a director for more than a decade with the Langley Good Times Cruise-In. His community involvement has earned him many thanks and even some noted recognition. He was crowned senior citizen of the year in 2004, and picked as Langley’s H.D. Stafford Citizen of the Year in 2007. At 84, he’s still going strong, waking early every Wednesday morning to join his fellow Rotarians at the Rotary Club of Langley Sunrise. |

When not working, Tony enjoys curling, golf and giving back to the community. He is honoured to be a Past President of his Rotary Club and a finalist for the 2011 George Preston Memorial Business Person of The Year Award sponsored by the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce. |

Patrick Matiowski
Fundraiser Patrick has been a Langley resident since 2008. As the Director of Fundraising for the Langley Care Foundation and the Langley Lodge, he reminds Langley citizens that the elderly are an important part of the community.
He appreciates the networking opportunities, the friendships, the community service and especially the international reach of Rotary.
His mission statement is to do what is right because it is right and by doing so, hopes that he will make the world a better place.
If family, friends or neighbours need help, they only have to ask. Patrick is a connector.

Doug Simpson

Doug received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, and then later obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta in 2001. Doug articled with a firm in Vancouver and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2002. Doug has been with Campbell Burton & McMullan LLP since 2003 and was invited to join the partnership in January 2011. Doug’s practice is focused exclusively on family law and he frequently appears in both Provincial Court and Supreme Court on behalf of his clients. A significant portion of Doug’s practice consists of negotiating and preparing agreements for clients. Doug believes that each client has a unique set of needs, circumstances and experiences, and strives to find the best legal solution for each client on a case by case basis, while being a forceful advocate for his client’s interests. Doug lives in Langley with his wife, Cheryl, and his children. |
