Our Club was very pleased to provide Jack and Todd of the Coquitlam Public Library with a $15,000 contribution to the Library Book Bus replacement project. In May of last year the book bus was destroyed by fire.

When our Club learned about Coquitlam's Public Library losing its Book Bus, we automatically started thinking about ways that we could become involved with this community project. Thus, our Club decided to allocate the proceeds from our annual Lobsterfest in November to the Coquitlam Public Library Book Bus Replacement project.

"The Book Bus has been part of Coquitlam Public Library’s services since 2009 and currently serves the communities of Cottonwood on Saturday mornings and Burke Mountain on Thursday mornings. In 2013, the Book Bus had 4,579 patron visits and circulated 13,649 items through its service stops. Based on list prices provided by suppliers, a new Book Bus of similar size and capability as the destroyed vehicle will cost over $250,000." - courtesy of the Coquitlam Public Library
