MC Trevor Jones was on the ball after another world tour with his travel business.   Literally just off the plane he nevertheless excelled with the fine session.   Welcome home Trevor!

No, Gordon, as you know, there is no such thing as a free dinner!  You may have (at the RC Camberwell 60th anniversary dinner) won a raffle for a free dinner, but the Sergeant subsequently levied a fine from you.  Good value, though at $1.  And lucky President Meredith similarly acquired, for a Sergeant’s $1, a (very good value!) pearl necklace.       The Shadow admires good bargains and quick MC repartee.

Occasionally our estimate of attendance at lunch is badly wrong. Like this week we predicted attendance of 27, but actually 37 people attended.  Oooops!  The Shadow can only congratulate the Kooyong Tennis Club catering team who were, indeed, (just) able to satisfy all 37 mouths.

The Shadow, cleverly using Dr Google, understands that Thirteenth Beach is part of the 7 km long section of coast near Barwon Heads. So?  President Meredith has revealed that she and Geoff will be renting a house there for a week; and that perhaps she will host a Rotary Hawthorn event there.  No doubt, when the date is known, our cars will be flooding through Geelong!

And lastly not usually a political commentator but, The Shadow thinks that the suggestion by one member that Lorraine McInnes (Noels spouse) will  take the USA Cabinet role as "Arts Secretary" is pushing it.

Still the evidence is mounting....................
