Open Day at Donations-in-Kind
A couple of years ago, the Donations-in-Kind West Footscray Store celebrated 100,000 hours of volunteer time, saving lots of goods from landfill and sending many containers to Rotary projects overseas.
This year we will celebrate despatching container number 500 overseas. You can’t miss the big yellow box!
Since the start of 2000 we have shipped $49.2millions value of goods to some 26 countries and saved almost 30million cubic meters of really good material from land fill.
Importantly we have raised some $3.2m to cover the shipping costs and run the store.
Hospital beds and equipment, computers, clothing – both new and used, school desks and chairs and lots more have all found homes in countries where they have none (or very little).
We want to celebrate this milestone and let everyone see what opportunities there are for the taking by opening the store for everyone to see with an open day at the store planned for Saturday 11th March.
Come along any time between 10am and 4pm and see what we can do to assist your projects – both local and international.
Tea and coffee and a sausage sizzle (obligatory!) and lots of information to get your project juices flowing.
