David Higgins
An Artist's Journey, Introduction by Bill Boland

David M. Higgins is an Associate Professor of Art at Corning Community College, where he teaches painting, drawing, and graphic design. He is also the director of CCC’s Atrium Gallery, which exhibits work of regional and national artists.

He was born in Deposit, NY and raised in Elmira and Binghamton. He received a B.A. in Studio Art from SUNY-Binghamton in 1983. He received an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from Louisiana State University in 1988. He once taught an art history course at the Hahn's Disease Research Center in Carville, LA, the last existing leprosarium in the continental United States. He also worked for five years as a professional graphic designer.

David has been teaching at CCC since 1991. He is represented by West End Gallery in Corning and The Caffery Gallery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has exhibited his work nationwide.
