Last night was a very successful changeover dinner. Darren Wallace was an excellent MC for the night with his funny bugle heralding the events of the night. Graham Burmeister gave the invocation and revealed his health issues; members please support him in a difficult time. There were some apologies for the night but a good turnout for the event. The spouses all looked lovely on the night. EIaine Almond and PDG John Glassford and his wife Susan were welcome guests of the night. I had a chance to speak to the Rotoract President  Matthew Crouch and they have moved the club away from the university, but still recruit there. I hope our club can keep in touch and support them.

The old board was thanked and the new board welcomed. I wish to thank all the board members for the help advice and support over the year. I think by the end I managed to get it right! I handed on the presidency to Phil Burgess who I am sure will do an excellent job in that role. It was my pleasure to surprise him with a Paul Harris fellowship from the club; well done to the club for this. Phil McItosh was also given a Paul Harris sapphire pin on the night for all his great work for the club.

The hundred percenters of attendance were noted including David Benn 36 years and David Byfield an incredible 42 years of meeting attendance, a great effort by all.

Peter McKinnon was rewarded for his work and contribution to the club and presented with the Rotarian of the Year.

I look back on the year with its trials and tribulations especially as we emerged from the restrictions of the pandemic. Meeting at Romanos seems to me going well. We occasionally end up downstairs which is not great but they treat us well. We lost a few members, and sadly they were some of our younger ones. Welcome to our newest members; I hope you will enjoy your time in our club for it's fellowship and joining in with the activities we do so well.
I am very grateful for Paul Murray helping me rejoin the club, after a 22 year gap while I was working in Junee Prison.  I look forward to another year in our great club.
