Tom Schmidt introduced our speaker Lakeville North Football coach Brian Vossen. Coach Vossen lives in Lakeville with his wife, Lindsey, and children Joelie and Leo.

Brian graduated from Lakeville High School in 1998.  He played defensive end and tight end for the Panthers and went on to play for Mankato State, or Harvard of Midwest as he likes to call it,  where he played defensive end before being moved to middle linebacker his senior year.   During his high school and college years his father was helped guide him to follow his passion.

After graduation, Brian accepted a position teaching math at Lakeville High School along with coaching in 2003.  His coaching career started as the defensive line coach for Lakeville High School.  After the split he moved to linebackers for a season before becoming the defensive coordinator under Mike Zweber.  Brian was named the head coach in the fall of 2010.  In his 5 seasons as head coach, the Panthers have competed in 4 state tournaments and one prep bowl in the 2012 season.

Coach Vossen’s  goals include making Lakeville North football team a powerhouse to be feared and to have the young men who leave his team be heartbroken, find a way to win at everything they do, never quit, and to treat people well and with kindness.
