At a TED conference, the world’s leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less. TED speakers have included Roger Ebert, Sheryl Sandberg, Bill Gates, Elizabeth Gilbert, Benoit Mandelbrot, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Brian Greene, Isabel Allende and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Three major TED events are held each year: The TED Conference takes place every spring in Vancouver, Canada, simultaneous with TEDActive, in Whistler, BC; and the TEDGlobal Conference takes place each summer in Edinburgh, Scotland.

On Monday, October 28th 2013, Lakeville will be hosting it’s first-ever TEDx conference. TEDxLakeville brings the spirit of TED—”ideas worth spreading”—to Minnesota, hosting some of the state’s most fascinating thinkers and doers to inspire attendees with fresh and insightful views on our theme, “The Next 100 Years.” Each featured speaker will deliver a 10-15 minute presentation, accompanied by a PowerPoint, on an idea related to the sub-categories of politics, education, and technology. With unique views on equally unique subjects, our line-up of speakers will ensure that every audience member leaves with insightful new information about topics related to their lives.

Free admission! There will be no tickets sold for the event; seating is first-come, first-serve.

TEDxLakeville will be hosted from 7:30pm-9:00pm in the Lakeville South High School auditorium.
