The interviews will be held in the offices of the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner located in the Jackson Health complex area.  The address is 1851 N.W. 10th Avenue, Miami, FL 33136.  It is on the east side of the street across from the Ryder Trauma Center.  If you have not been there before, I recommend MapQuest or something.  10th Avenue is east of the main thoroughfare 12th Avenue and is also marked as Bob Hope Way.  You can access it from N.W. 20th street just to the north or if exiting I-95 to 836, get off immediately to N.W. 14th Street or continue on to N.W. 12th Avenue, turn right and turn right again at the first light which is NW. 14th Street.  Continue east to 10th Avenue, turn left & go north past Bascom Palmer (on your left).  When you go under a pedestrian overpass, on your right will be the Medical Examiner's building.  The gated entrance is just before the building.  If the cross gate is down, push the button & tell security you are with the Rotary group.  Drive back in & go through another gate on your left to park.  You can walk in on this lower level to a door that is just across the hall from their break room where we will be gathering.  If you arrive after 9:00, use the front lobby entrance back around by where you drove in.

We meet at 8:00 AM for coffee, donuts & an orientation.  It is important to be there early so we can explain certain procedures and try to get everyone on the same wavelength as far as scoring. Teams of 3 or 4 will be assigned, and the first interviews begin about 9:00.  They are scheduled on the hour with the last interviews about 12:30 to 1:00.  Applicants must have graduated from a Miami-Dade high school, public or private to apply.  They may go to any AMA accredited med school.  We have 70 students to interview this year and have over $200,000 for scholarship awards that will range from $2000 to $5000.

We always have a varied group of students.  From rising freshmen who may not have even picked their schools yet to veteran 3rd year students, you will hear a variety of stories and dreams of pursuing a medical career.  They are almost always incredibly interesting.  Our tough job is to try and find the "best of the best".

Dress is business casual. It is suggested that you bring a sweater or jacket in case it is cold. We will be providing hand sanitizer for each interview room. Again my thanks for your willingness to do this.  If it is your first time, do not worry as you will be teamed with experienced people.  The interview process is easy to pick up.
