Welcome to the newest member of the Saginaw Sunrise Rotary Club, Debasish Mridha, MD!
Secret Santa Project
The Rotary Club of Saginaw Sunrise decided to extend our reach this year with helping additional families in Saginaw and so the Rotary Holiday Wishes and Secret Santa Project was expanded through generous donations from our club members.

On Thursday, December 15th, 50 meals provided by Sombreros Mexican Restaurant in Saginaw and 20 Walmart gift cards valued at $50 each were delivered to The Mustard Seed Shelter on Cherry Street in Saginaw.  Mustard Seed provides a safe, supportive and structured home to single women and women with children experiencing homelessness. We also delivered meals for 27 people on that day to Emmaus House of Saginaw located on 14th Street in Saginaw. Emmaus House is a home for women coming from jail, prison, or rehabilitation. The purpose of Emmaus House is to provide the women with a family-like Christian atmosphere while they are creating new lives for themselves.

On December 16 and 19 we met 8 parents at the Walmart Shopping Center on Bay Road in Saginaw and shopped for 34 children.  Each parent was given a budget of $50 to shop for each child.  Our team of Santa and his helpers delivered the gifts along with a wonderful donation of pizzas from Jet’s Pizzas on Christmas Eve to addresses provided by the parents.  The team also delivered meals to the Saginaw Township Police and Fire Department and Covenant Hospital.

One of the parents said to us “Living in the shelter ain’t easy, but at least my children are going to be happy”.
This year we have surpassed Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” through generous giving and dedicated service that would make our founder, Paul Harris, very proud.
