Judy Alred, presented the club with information and an update on the Roatan Day Care, and Island Friends programs that she has co-founded and directs.
Her teaching background has helped in the success of the programs.The daycare runs from 8-5pm, and currently 29 children cared for daily. Currently parents pay 400lps per month. They follow the premise, you must pay for a service, to appreciate the service.
6 years the program has been running subsidised financially by the Alreds roughly 60%. They are currently considering turning the program over to the community, so that the success and benefits can be expanded. And are seeking some assistance, so that the program can flourish in the community.
The existing mothers and fathers of the service, have offered roughly 4 times the current 400 lps rate, so that the service may continue.
