On Wednesday April 26, the Intercultural Community Center held an evening open house to share their new facility with the local community. Several local dignitaries were in attendance including Westbrook Mayor Mike Sanphy, former Mayer Colleen Hilton, Sue Salisbury of the Westbrook School Committee, and Don Estes, former rep and retired teacher.   Also in attendance were local community members, Rotarians and Kiwanians.

Short tours of the facility were offered by current students who volunteered to share their pride in this new center.  They showed off the gym and homework area, the library, classroom, kitchen and chapel. After the tour, Rev Mutima Peter spoke to the assembled group about the mission of the ICC and spoke about their efforts to raise a matching $15,000 towards a new van. He introduced members of the Board who were in attendance including Colleen Hilton, Sue Salisbury, Don Estes and Susan McCarthy. Community Center business manager Karen Collins also offered a few words.
