You're invited to a special event where we'll reveal the first sign of the Stafford Historical Self-Guided Tour. Enjoy wine, cheese, and good company as we celebrate Stafford's past. Come see the sign and start your journey through history with us!

Join us at our kickoff event of the Stafford Self-Guided Historical Tour with the unveiling of the first sign outside the Stafford Historical Society Museum. Formerly known as the Julius Converse Office and the Mineral Spring, this first stop on the tour was initially constructed in 1887 as the office of the Mineral Springs Manufacturing Company Mill, transitioning over the years to serve as the town library before finding its current purpose as a museum dedicated to preserving and promoting Stafford's rich history. Adjacent to the museum stands the Mineral Spring, a testament to Stafford's early reputation as a destination renowned for its healing waters.

The Stafford Historical Tour, a joint initiative by the Rotary Club of Stafford, CT, and the Stafford Historical Society, aims to uncover the hidden gems of Stafford's 300-year-old history. This self-guided tour will showcase significant sites often overlooked by both residents and visitors, shedding light on Stafford's rich past. From the nation's first health spa to visits by founding fathers like John Adams, each stop on the tour will offer engaging activities, inviting participants to immerse themselves in Stafford's fascinating narrative.

Over the next six years, interactive signs will be strategically placed at historical sites across town, offering accessible historical information via a dedicated website. This collaborative project seeks to strengthen community bonds, involving local government, businesses, and residents in preserving and celebrating Stafford's heritage. Community involvement is vital, with opportunities to contribute as Ambassadors, Contributors, or Donors, ensuring the success and sustainability of the Stafford Historical Tour. Join us on April 28th and be a part of Stafford's enduring legacy.
