Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund Help & hope for families with seriously ill children, since 1976 January 12, 2015 Dear George: For many years, area Rotaries have been especially good friends to the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund, which assists parents caring for children with serious illnesses, injuries and disabilities, providing financial assistance for needs not covered by insurance — especially when high medical and out-of-pocket expenses, lost jobs, and decreased income threaten to derail the lives of these already beleaguered families. Since its founding in 1976, the Fund has come to the aid of nearly 24,000 families in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. We also provide respite programs, like Family Fun Days aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia, at the Philadelphia Zoo, and Longwood Gardens (the latter of which is supported generously each year by the Longwood Rotary), to give these families a break from their everyday struggles with medical issues for their sick children and financial difficulties, plus a Holiday Adopt-a-Family program, advocacy, and much more. Founder and Executive Director Peggy Dolan, an inspiring public speaker, would love to meet with your membership to talk about the work that we do at the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund. She can be available at your earliest convenience at virtually any of your meetings, either at Johns Plain & Fancy Diner on the first or third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 a.m., or at the Spinnerstown Hotel at 6 p.m. on the second, fourth, or fifth Tuesday of the month.
